Ant Control

Ant infestations can become a real problem when left untreated. These insects will travel for hours in search of food, usually leaving trails for other ants to follow.

Ants might not be known for carrying diseases, but they can bring in an array of nasty things from the outdoors into your home. You might think an ant infestation can be treated by yourself, but when not done correctly, they can easily come back.

Ants sometimes use a chemical to attract other ants to a food source, so an influx of ants coming and going is a sign of infestation.

To locate an ant's nest, look out for piles of soil or wood shavings. They will usually be located in dark corners or in small holes in the wall.

The most obvious sign of an infestation is a large number of ants in areas such as the kitchen, near bins and near food sources.

Bed Bugs

A bed bug infestation in your business or home can cause you to revert to panic stations. A hotel or care facility must react with haste to stop the spread of the infestation, as this can lead to a loss of customers, consumer trust and income. We offer both a domestic and commercial bed bug treatment service that can be arranged at a time that suits you, day or night. Although bed bugs do not transmit disease, it is important to know if you have them. Bed bug bites can be incredibly irritating and distressing. In some cases, even becoming sore and itchy. Bites can vary in appearance from person to person, some people have no reaction to bites, whilst others can develop a severe rash with minor itching. These can occur anywhere on the body but are most commonly found on the neck, hands, arms and legs. The bites often result in annoyance due to the itchiness and in some cases loss of sleep.

A bed bug infestation can make your premises unsafe, especially if you are handling food.

A few indications suggest bed bugs may be present in your home, but first, you may be wondering what bed bugs look like. Spot the signs early and look for black dirt on flooring and walls. They are round-bodied, reddish-brown to black in colour, roughly about 5mm in length. A common sign of a bed bug infestation includes identifying dark marks on your mattress, often accompanied by a sweet, sickly scent. Adult bed bugs produce this odour with their scent glands when they feel disturbed. Small dark blood spots can also be seen, as well as the bed bugs themselves, which are visible to the human eye. Bed bugs leave behind molted shells in which they have shed. They do this at each of the first five stages of their lives. If you have a bed bug infestation, it is likely that small, white eggs can also be seen where they have been inhabiting.

Fleas

With the warmer weather you might find yourself with a flea problem, even if you don’t have pets. Fleas lay eggs that remain dormant but later hatch in warmer weather. As summer approaches you might find yourself with a flea infestation that you’re looking to fix fast.

Fleas can spread throughout your home rapidly and become a nightmare to deal with, which is why immediate flea treatment is necessary to eradicate the infestation.

A flea problem is no reflection of the cleanliness of a home and homes without pets can suffer flea infestations too. But fleas can be very hard to eradicate without professional help. Killing adult fleas is only part of the problem and any eggs that remain in soft furnishings or carpets will later hatch and prolong the situation.

Fleas tend to lay their eggs in soft furnishings, so part of fixing the issue means stripping and washing bedding, cushions and other soft furnishings that have been exposed.

Hoovering is a very effective tool in dealing with fleas. While it won’t fix an infestation completely, hoovering regularly will help break the fleas’ life cycle by removing eggs from floors and carpets.

Fleas are hard to get rid and the only way of guaranteeing an infestation is properly treated is with professional help. Our expert flea pest control Lincolnshire can rid you of your fleas quickly.

If your pet(s) is constantly scratching and biting their skin, this is a sign that fleas could be feeding on their blood and that you have an infestation. Even a single flea bite can cause a cat or dog to become agitated and scratch excessively for several days.

If you have a fairly serious infestation, it is not only your pets that fleas will target. You may notice bite marks appearing around your ankles (and up to your knees). These bites will not swell up much but can be very itchy and are an unfortunate indicator you have a flea problem.

Although fleas are tiny pests, they are not impossible to see with the naked eye. Pay particular attention to the areas around your pet(s)' bed or areas where they like to relax during the daytime. It is also worth checking your sofas and carpets too.

Flea dirt is another word for droppings. Fleas might be tiny and difficult to see, and whilst their waste might be even smaller, it is still big enough to notice. Flea dirt looks like sprinkled pepper and can be found on your pet(s) and in your carpet.
